The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) recently published a brand-new resource- “Suicide Prevention: A Guide for Faith Communities” which we at Family Connection wanted to share with you. Thoughts of suicide enter the minds of all sorts; there is no one economic status, no one educational status, and no one spiritual view. Often times those that are having thoughts of suicide seek guidance through the church and faith leaders. The brochure is designed with diverse faith communities in mind and provides some key information for faith leaders to reduce stigma, spot warning signs, and access resources to better prevent suicide in their congregations and communities.
