Resources

Dawson County Family Connection strives to connect those with resources with those who need resources!

We have created three directories to help meet this goal:

1) Community Resource List

2) Substance Abuse Treatment & Recovery

3) Directory of Counseling Services, Mental Health Resources & Hotlines

These directories are provided as a service by Family Connection. All information published herein is gathered from sources thought to be reliable and is not a complete list of all resources available to Dawson County citizens. Inclusion in this directory does not necessarily constitute an endorsement by Family Connection. Requests for changes or inclusions in this directory are appreciated and should be sent to [email protected]

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) recently published a brand-new resource- Suicide Prevention: A Guide for Faith Communities which we at Family Connection wanted to share with you. Thoughts of suicide enter the minds of all sorts; there is no one economic status, no one educational status, and no one spiritual view. Often times those that are having thoughts of suicide seek guidance through the church and faith leaders. The brochure is designed with diverse faith communities in mind and provides some key information for faith leaders to reduce stigma, spot warning signs, and access resources to better prevent suicide in their congregations and communities.
