Local parents and guardians will be able to learn about more mental wellness tools to help their children at an upcoming forum.

Dawson County Family Connection will host a “Bridge the Gap Dawson” forum on Tuesday, Oct. 24 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Dawson County Library.

The library is located at 342 Allen Street in Dawsonville. People can RSVP for the event at the following link: https://www.trustedsourcesga. org/event-details/bridge-the-gap-atdawsonville.

The discussion is being guided by Georgia-based Trusted Sources, a nonprofit of frontline mental health advocates seeking to educate people with trustworthy resources so they can heal and thrive, the group’s website stated.

Attendees will have the chance to hear from other parents, teens, and counselors.

“There is a gap of precious time between when your child indicates they need mental wellness help and receiving that help,” Dawson County Family Connection said in an email about the event. “We hope you will be able to attend this meeting led by those who have been there and can help you streamline your family’s mental wellness journey.”
