While school may be out for the summer, Dawson County Family Connection is still hard at work hosting its annual “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive. Here’s how you can help.

The annual drive is aimed at collecting school supplies for local children who need a little extra help as they prepare to go back to school this August. According to Dawson County Family Connection, “When you help Stuff the Bus you help a Dawson County student walk into their school their first day prepared, confident, and ready to excel”.

There are several ways that community members can help contribute to the drive.

Supplies can be ordered directly through Family Connection’s Amazon Smile Wishlist or Walmart registry. Anything ordered off of either of these lists will be delivered directly to the nonprofit, making it an easy process for all involved.

Community members interested in contributing to the drive can also purchase school supplies and drop them off in person at the Dawson County Family Connection office, which is located at 45 Medical Center Drive in a shared building with the Good Shepherd Clinic.

The nonprofit is also accepting monetary donations, which can be sent to Dawson County Family Connection at P.O. Box 872, Dawsonville, 30534.

Businesses that are interested in contributing can also do so by becoming a collection site and putting out a collection bin for people to drop off school supplies. Interested businesses can call Dawson County Family Connection to get a collection bin. To order items for the drive off of Family Connection’s Amazon Smile wishlist, go to https://a.co/i0LyRQ7. To order i t e m s o ff of Fa m i l y Connection’s Walmart registry, go to https://bit.ly/4dS4d2M.
